How the service works
Shopmos is a platform that lets internet users compare thousands of product and service offers from hundreds of e-merchants in seconds. When you want to purchase the chosen product or service, you go to the website of the merchant of your choice.
1. Ranking criteria and definitions
Offers are displayed by default in order of relevance.
This default ordering of offers may depend on various factors, depending on the type of search you perform.
In addition to the price merchants pay for referencing, the relevance ranking takes the following criteria into account:
- Popularity: an algorithm considers how many Shopmos visitors went on to the merchant's website
- Search criteria: considered based on your query, the filters chosen and certain product categories
- Merchant response time: considers the average time required to display the offer or the response time of the merchant's website server
You can also choose to have offers displayed in ascending or descending order of price.
2. Capital and/or contractual relationships between Shopmos and the listed merchants
Whether you search by categories or via the search field (keyword), offers come from sites contractually linked to Shopmos — which doesn't necessarily mean Shopmos has a direct contractual link with the third party offering the product for sale.
Otherwise, Shopmos is not affiliated with the listed merchants.
3. Shopmos compensation and its effect on referencing
Shopmos is an online referencing service that allows offers from internet merchants who have paid for referencing on Shopmos, or who use a free trial referencing offer, to be compared.
Compensation is partly considered when determining the ranking of search results, in combination with other criteria (see point 1).
4. Price components and possible additional costs
Displayed prices include all costs, except for new vehicles (prices include all costs except administration fees).
5. Commercial warranties
Due to the nature of Shopmos' listing activity, the warranties displayed by Shopmos are those of the merchant. Shopmos therefore does not provide any additional warranty on the end product.
Cancellation options and payment terms may vary depending on the merchant's policies and are stated on the corresponding merchant pages.
6. Completeness of Shopmos search results and number of referenced offers
The results provided to you are not exhaustive of all offers available on the internet and stem from data collected by Shopmos from the referenced sites.
The number of products and services is displayed on the results page once the user has started the search.
7. Method and frequency of updating Shopmos search results
Information on the listed products is generally updated daily, and for some merchants several times a day.
These updates are based on information provided by the merchants. The date of the last update is shown on each offer.
Due to the nature of Shopmos' listing activity, in the event of a discrepancy between the information displayed on the Shopmos website and that on the merchant's website, the latter takes precedence.
